The Fort Recovery Chamber of Commerce met in regular session on February 22, 2022 at Brickstreet.
Members Present: Randy Diller, Shawn Robinson, Sue Heiser, Amy Spriggs, Erick Brackman, Connor Rammel, Ted Romer, Thomas Shaw and Amy Wendel

Secretary Report: Ted Romer made a motion to approve the previous month meeting minutes, seconded by Connor Rammel
Treasurers Report: Checking account beginning balance $5,244.10. Disbursements totaling $285.00, with an ending balance of $4,959.10. Cash on hand is $5.00 and the Fort Recovery Scholarship Fund is $9.632.39 for a grand total of $14,596.49. Thomas Shaw made a motion to approve, seconded by Amy Spriggs.


Old Business:
Chambers Banquet is Sunday, March 20th at 5:30 p.m. at the Elementary/Middle School Auditorium.

New Business:
Chamber:

  • SOCA (Southern Ohio Chamber Alliance) is going to start charging a $250.00 fee/year. The Chambers can participate/promote to get some or all of this waived.
    o Promoting/Participating in Small Business Health Insurance
    o Worker’s Compensation
    o Strategic HR
    o And more.
    **Thinking of potentially hosting a seminar – Amy Spriggs is also a member of the Coldwater Chambers and she is going to gather more information to share.
    Village:
    • Funding Request out there – Trail on 49 South/Industrial Park; Butler Street Project (2024/25) and going to re-open the idea of a stop light at 49/119.
    • Reroute of 49 has been approved by ODOT.
    • Working on a “Safe Routes to School Plan” and trying to get some funding to 100% fund this.
  • Merchants: Sorority is having a “Brickstreet Market” from 10-2 on Saturday April 9th, same day as the Bunny Hop
  • Jubilee: Looking for someone to run the Duck Race Stand at the Jubilee.
  • Ambassadors: Security system was installed at the Ambassadors and Fort Site Park
  • Athletic Boosters: 2 weeks until the first Softball Scrimmage. Baseball will be at old field.
    • Booster Bash went well. Got some new sign ups and plan to do again next year
      WOW:
    • Tug and Go tickets are available until the end of the month. http://www.wowraffle.com and some locations around town
    • Will be announcing 2023 entertainment at the WOW this year.
