Regular Meeting
The Fort Recovery Chamber of Commerce met in regular session on May 30th, 2023 at Wendel’s BBQ
Members Present: Ted Romer, Lisa Niekamp-Urwin, Amy Wendel, Sue Heiser, Larry Brown, Eric Brackman, Randy
Diller
Secretary Report: Sue, made a motion to approve the previous month meeting minutes, seconded by Eric
Treasurers Report: Checking account beginning balance $4,595.76. Disbursements totaling $805, receipts totaling
$390.00 with an ending balance of $4,180.75, Cash on hand is $5.00 and the Fort Recovery Scholarship Fund is
$8,371.38 for a grand total of $12,557.14. Lisa, made a motion to approve, seconded by Randy.
Old Business: There was no April Meeting.
New Business: Looking to fill the VP role, please let us know if interested.
Chamber: No new business.
Village: – New Police Officer, Haiden Stidham started last week. He’s from St Mary’s and is currently living in
Celina.

  • There were some pool issues but hoping to open Thursday.
  • Wiggs/Gwendolyn St – is out for bids for the reconstruction project.
    School: Mercer County ESC is doing something different this year and is starting an Business Advisory Council Kick
    off and Idea Exchange. Please see the attached. Registration is open now.
    Merchants: Getting ready for the Taste of town, which is June 14th on the Brickstreet.
  • Also participating at the Tractor Pulls and the WOW
    Jubilee: Have lots of new events at the Jubilee this year. Check out the website http://www.fortrecoveryjubilee.com
  • Chicken dinner sales are going on now! You can purchase at Mercer Savings, Park National, First
    Financial, Miracle Lanes or Thobes Carry out.

  • Committee members are going to be at the Ball Diamonds, June 6th & 7th for presale Chicken Dinner
    Tickets and Ride Tickets (see attached for more information about both of those)
  • Looking for volunteers to watch over the Inflatables Saturday afternoon. If there are no volunteers to
    oversee them, they will not be up and running
    Ambassadors: – Sewer project is wrapped up
  • July pull is the last weekend of July.
    Athletic Boosters/WOW: Dedication of the new facility took place.
  • Hosting the ACME tournament.
    Historical Society & Project Recovery: Visitor’s center is being repainted. One of a Kind Auction, will be October
    22nd, donations are beginning to be accepted, Randy and Mary Diller are contacts.
    Community Foundation: Had a meeting May 30th
    Other News:
  • Ribbon Cutting at Jenneration Fitness will be June 5th at 4 p.m.
  • There was a joint ad in The Evening Leader (with Historical Society)
    Ted motioned to adjourn the meeting.
    The next meeting is scheduled for June 27th at Wendel’s BBQ at 12:00 p.m.
